Customer Appreciation Day

We are in the midst of planning our first “Annual Customer Appreciation Day/Tool Swap”. Please mark your calendar for Saturday, May 14, 2011. This will be a busy day for wood enthusiants  as Woodworkers’ Supply will  be conducting their Spring Sale and NC Woodworker members will  be having their annual picnic in Cary.

Net Tally/Gross Tally

We measure and sell all of our lumber on a net tally basis, which means we measure the exact width of the board and charge for that amount of board footage, which has already been kiln dried. Gross tally is the amount of board footage measured prior to the lumber being dried and before any shrinkage occurred due to the drying process. Typically, the width of lumber shrinks 7-8% in the drying process.

100 board feet on a gross tally = 93 board feet on a net tally

$4.90 on a gross tally = $5.24 on a net tally
